A close friend of mine, Justin Thyme, was kind enough send in his
take on the "Random Freewrite" post! I've highlighted the words that
were required for the free-write. Here is his short story.
The
once was a boy named Roy. Roy was a boy of 13 and loved swimming in the
ocean. He once saw a clown-fish and today he was hoping to see some
more. He swam out past the waves and began his decent. He was chasing a
fish when he had to go up for air. He went up to the surface, took a
couple of gasps, and eager to dive back down, and plunged below the
surface again. Immediately he was hit with shock. A 20 foot great-white
shark was swimming leisurely below him in the lime green water. He was
amazed and frightened by the sheer size of the beast. He swam slowly
toward the shore slowly very aware of the giant slowly swimming in his
direction. Now Roy had seen his fair share of shark films and had never
been scared of them until now. He knew from watching documentaries that
the shark could swim much faster than him and that it would be better
not to get it excited. He was now nearing the waves and the shark did
not seem to want Roy there so it sped up, and as it did, Roy did, too.
He quickly caught a wave and body boarded into shallower water. Once he
was on shore, he saw the massive shark in a wave about to break, and
knew he would never forget that day.
I think its pretty good! Rate it! Comment! Give him tips! Send in YOUR work!
